With this 5 K fundraiser I am doing, I will be doing a mile a day ( doing a step/walk machine), Monday to Friday for 6 months. I am doing this to get more donations to go to HSP and PLS Foundation.

My name is Barbara Lawrence. I was 41 years old when they told me I had this disease, and then I was told I have SPG4. This disease starts in your head to your spine and then to your legs. Mine affects me is my right hip to my leg. It feels that when I walk, it feels like I am Mrs. Frankenstein or walking in quicksand. I move my legs slowly (steps), but bending them is hard due to stiffness. I now have help when I walk, with a cane or a walker.
